Fleet get Football Foundation grant |
Gravesend & Northfleet have been
awarded a grant by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund, supporters of the
Football Foundation, for 50% of the estimated £70,000 cost of rebuilding
the Northfleet End, reports www.gnfc.co.uk This follows previous grants received from the Foundation back in 2001/02 totalling around £146,000 for work on the stadium and pitch. Chairman Brian Kilcullen, said: "We are
delighted to get a grant towards these necessary safety works on the
Northfleet End. Peter Lee, Chief executive of the FSIF welcomed
the investment added: "We are delighted that the FSIF have been able
to play a significant role in bringing top class facilities to the players
and fans of Gravesend & Northfleet. Almost £90m has already been invested by the
Football Stadia Improvement Fund since its launch in July 2000, funding
lower league ground improvements throughout professional and non league
game, creating a safe and modern environment for fans and players.
