Clubs look to have brighter futures
TWO Kent clubs are looking forward to having brighter
futures, writes Stephen McCartney.
Margate manager Chris Kinnear hopes the club's transfer embargo will be lifted
as early as next week.
Kinnear has been unable to sign players for his Nationwide Conference South side
for the bulk of the season because they still have outstanding debts with other
club's and players.
But, with the ban set to be lifted, Kinnear is looking to
rebuild slowly but surely.
Meanwhile, Faversham Town could get a second chance at trying to get back into
the Go Travel Kent League next season.
They were initially told they would have to enter the British Energy Kent County
League - one step lower than they last played two seasons ago - but the FA
Leagues Committee have now advised the club to re-apply for the Kent League, who
had no say in the initial decision, and would presumably be keen to take them.
With only sixteen teams in the division, club's would welcome Faversham Town
with open arms as it would mean one extra home game.
