New management duo at Erith & Belvedere
The new management team at Dr Martens League Eastern Division club Erith & Belvedere has been announced as Micky Cloke as manager and Barry Fox as assistant-manager/coach.
Both have been impressive performers for the Deres but had their careers cut short by injury after 57 and 65 appearances respectively.
Cloke joined the Deres from Furness in the summer of 1997, making his debut in a 4-0 win against Cirencester Town, and had an excellent first season playing through the dark days after the fire and at half a dozen 'home' grounds. But a bad knee injury in an FA Cup tie at Lewes in 1998 put him out of the game for two years. His last game was in April 2001.
Fox, previously with Bishop's Stortford and Boreham Wood, made his debut in a memorable 5-2 win against Waterlooville in January 1998, and his last appearance before retiring due to a knee injury was in May 2000, since when he has helped the previous Deres' management team on the coaching side.
Both Cloke and Fox impressed the Deres' board with their knowledge and commitment.
