It's a hard one to call, admits
Cugley |
Martin Chandler will be drafted into
Folkestone Invicta's midfield as the club aim for a place in the first
round of the FA Cup on Saturday, writes Stephen McCartney. Chandler will replace Scott Lindsey, who begins a two match ban, for their trip to Aylesbury United, knowing they're just one win away from making history. "The old Folkestone Town club had a good history but Invicta haven't reached the first round proper before," manager Neil Cugley said in an EXCLUSIVE interview with www.kentishfootball.co.uk "It will be a great achievement to get that far." Cugley, who admits he is looking forward to their trip to Buckingham Road, is pleased his side go into this game five games unbeaten. They booked their place in the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy in midweek, winning 2-1 at Whyteleafe in a replay after James Dryden's late leveller earnt them a replay in a 1-1 draw at their Buzzlines Stadium fortress. "We deserved it," admitted Cugley. "We played quite well. "We were disappointed on Saturday as we looked a bit jaded because of so many games, but on Tuesday night we looked very organised and we're pleased with the result." Cugley, however, admits it's going to be a close game against the Ducks in Buckinghamshire on Saturday. "I think it will be very tough," he said. "We've had them watched and I don't think there will be too much between the two sides at all. "I think they've got a lot of ex Kettering players with a lot of experience. "It will be a very difficult game and I think it will be 50/50. It will be hard to choose a favourite between the two clubs."
