Dolby's frustrated with Tonbridge's poor finishing

TONBRIDGE Angels manager Tony Dolby reflected on Saturday's defeat at Eastleigh by stating that he was becoming frustrated at his teams inability to secure a league win at the moment, writes Stephen McCartney.

He told the club's website: "I thought on Saturday we didn't start well, gave Eastleigh too much respect and seemed to wait until we were a goal down to spur us into action.

"We had the better of the second half but didn't create enough chances to really test Eastleigh.

"That said, defensively we were sound and conceded a dubious first goal when Jamie (Turner) was clearly pushed and John Farley was fouled for their late second goal.

"We were playing a quality team and were not far away from taking something from the match but on the day we were not good enough.

"I am becoming increasingly frustrated at losing by the odd goal or drawing matches we should have won.

"This has got to change and, although we are not far away from being an excellent team, we are in need of more of a creative approach to matches and I am currently looking at bringing players into the club to do just this."

Dolby added that he was impressed by substitute Jay May - he had a brief spell with Dartford last season - who made his debut on Saturday, coming on for the injured Steve Sodje and that the player-boss hoped to at least secure a loan signing before Saturday's home clash with Northwood at the AVAVAN Longmead Stadium.
