Another move for Powell
Dave Powell has left Dr Martens League Eastern Division club
Ashford Town to join rivals and neighbours Tonbridge Angels.
An attacking midfielder or forward, Powell joined Welling United during the
summer of 2001 from Crawley Town.
He was originally with Kent League side Sheppey United before spending a number
of years with Gravesend & Northfleet.
The skilful Powell was never a prolific scorer with the Wings but always had the
knowledge and ability to bring other players around him in play with either neat
one-touch passing or opportunist through balls.
He had joined the Nuts & Bolts last month on-loan until the rest of the
season with a view to a permanent move to the Homelands, but was recalled by
Welling to make the switch to the table-topping Angels, who are managed by his
former team-mate, Tony Dolby.
