Shareholders meeting outline plans for Angels' future
RYMAN League Division One outfit Tonbridge Angels are holding a
shareholders meeting inside their revamped clubhouse at their Longmead Stadium
next Tuesday, 14th June, writes Stephen McCartney.
The meeting, which gets underway at 8pm, will outline plans for the
organisation, the structure, the financing and questions are being answered by
Peter Ide and new chairman Nick Sullivan and everyone will be made welcome,
whether in favour or indifferent.
A statement said: "This is your opportunity to find out all you need to
know and see how we have the chance to take the club onwards in the
future. And also to see how the average fan can become more involved in
the club."
Meanwhile, Angels' player-boss Tony
Dolby has seen a second player leave the club in the close season.
After losing goalkeeper Jamie Turner to Nationwide Conference South outfit
Welling United last month, striker Richard Brady has left the club.
Having signed for the Angels in February from Eastbourne Borough, with an
impressive track record, he failed to make the same impression in Kent, scoring
only twice from eleven starts.
However, at the other end of the scale, defender Michael Cramp, 17, has signed a
contract with the Angels.
Cramp has enjoyed a successful campaign with the club, collecting the under 18's
Players' Player of the Year award and breaking through into the first team in
impressive fashion at the tail end of the season making eight appearances.
Cramp's teammates have also been awarded, with Ian Parkes' collecting the
Managers' Player of the Year. Craig Fermor scooped the Top Goalscorer
accolade and special youth team awards went to Tom Reeves and Matt Crane.
Off the pitch, the club is delighted to announce a deal has been reached, after
length negotiations, with Betterview Windows and Conservatories to be the clubs
main sponsor for the next two seasons with an option for a third.
Betterview, who are based in Wickford, Essex are also main sponsors of Southend
United. They have an office next to the fire station in Tonbridge.
The deal involves cash and substantial work to the ground, which has already
taken place.
