New Beckenham management duo have faith in youth

KENT LEAGUE side Beckenham Town are pleased to announce that a new management team has been appointed to replace the long serving Kevin Sugrue, who resigned last week, writes Stephen McCartney.

Gavin Rose is to become manager, bringing with him Junior Kadi, 25, as his assistant to replace Sugrue, who served the club as manager for 17 years.

Rose and Kadi have had notable success in management over the past three years whilst in charge of the academy at Ryman League Division One club Dulwich Hamlet, culminating in them winning the Southern Youth League championship last season.

Rose was a regular in Bromley's first team at the start of last season as well as having a spell with Dover Athletic.  He has previously played for Gravesend & Northfleet and Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Kadi, a creative midfielder, was a member of Kingstonian's FA Trophy winning side at Wembley Stadium in 2000.

Beginning his career in Coventry City's youth side, he has also had spells with Whyteleafe and Conference side Woking.

He signed for Dulwich Hamlet just before the 2002 transfer deadline from Slough Town and then switched to Lewes in June 2003.

Kadi's work with Dulwich Hamlet's youth team has not gone unnoticed and he was offered the role at Eden Park Avenue with a specific brief to blood his Dulwich's youngsters into Beckenham Town's first team squad.

In a statement issued by the Eden Park Avenue club, it said: "The ambition of the club is shared by the new management team and their success in the development of youth should play a major part in our success over the coming season and beyond.

"Gavin and Junior are keen to secure a strong squad for next season and both existing players, and the new players that they have identified will be given the opportunity to impress in the pre-season games to be announced next week."
