My hardest decision to make
BECKENHAM Town's new management duo of Gavin Rose and Junior
Kadi have announced their first big name signing since joining the club from
Nationwide Conference side Lewes, writes Stephen McCartney.
They have signed midfielder Peter Adeniyi from their former club. The
former Dulwich Hamlet star has had previous Kent League experience with Erith
Town.
Beckenham supporters' first opportunity of seeing their side's new line up will
be against Ryman Premier League newcomers Fisher Athletic in a pre-season
friendly at Eden Park Avenue on Thursday 21 July.
And 25-year-old Kadi has admitted leaving the Sussex club was one of his hardest
decisions to make.
He told the Lewes website: "I just want to thank everyone at Lewes for a
great two years and this has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had
to make.
"I have made a lot of friends at the club and I hope you guys continue to
back Steve King (Lewes manager) and the players in their bid to take the club
even further.
"I have so many good memories of the place but the one that will never
leave me is the way we destroyed Horsham in Steve's first derby and the worse
has to be the disappointment of the play-offs (the club were denied to compete
in the play-offs for the Nationwide Conference as their ground didn't meet
Conference ground grading) but I know that will only made the boys more
determined to do it this year.
"I would like to thank the supporters for all their support even if it was
negative at times but to me it only shows the long they have for the club - I'm
glad to have been on the ride to take Lewes further."
