Brown's brace helps Lordswood Ladies secure opening home win
Lordswood Ladies' first home game in the South East Counties
Women's League saw them beat Maidstone Mavrix by four goals to nil, writes

After Maidstone Mavrix twice went close striking the crossbar in the opening
twenty minutes, Lordswood took the lead after twenty five minutes when Ibuken
Baku found the net following a goal mouth scramble following a corner kick.
Newcomer Carrie Strevens doubled Lordswood's lead after fourty four minutes when
she slotted home after the ball had struck the crossbar.
A second half brace from Laura Brown, one from a free kick ten yards outside
thepenalty area, wrapped up the victory.
Lordswood manager Mick Fiorentini said: "I was impressed with this performance
and especially the way the new players and the established team have blended
together so smoothly and quickly."
Meanwhile, an inspired performance from Sarah Baker helped Lordswood's under
fourteens draw Gillingham Girls 1-1. Jessica Emmerson levelled for the Lords
just before the break after Gills took an early lead.
Lordswood's Maidens under fourteen side played a friendly at Rochester City and
a brace from Rachel Quested and a goal each from Stacey Shilston and Rebecca
Barr gave Lordswood a 4-2 victory.
Zoeanne Pound and Stevie Parker had good chances against Castle Colts, but
Lordwood's under eleven side lost 1-0 in a league match.
