Larkin joins Maidstone following short spell at Bromley
Mal Watkins, the new manager of Go Travel Kent League club Maidstone United, has announced that he has signed defender Andy Larkin in time for Saturday's trip to Hythe Town.

Coming on the recommendation of former Tonbridge Angels and Bromley boss Alan Walker, who is now with the Stones in an advisory capacity, 6' 2" defender Larkin arrives with a vast amount of experience having played for Hastings United, Folkestone Invicta and Tonbridge.

Larkin joined Ryman League Division One South Bromley when Walker was manager at Hayes Lane where he made three appearances in the Ryman League before being released following Walker's departure.

Watkins said: "We needed cover at the back particularly with after the departure of Paul Foley to Dartford and it should create some healthy competition at the back."

However, the club look set to release Mark Horan from his contract with the club. Watkins added: "He's a player that has always given 100% for the club but he feels he wants to play at a higher level and if his hearts not really in it then I don't want to stand in his way."

A decision though has still to be made with the possibility of Horan going out on-loan for the remainder of the season.
