Walker warns Stones not to slip up |
After the highs of last weeks victory
over Eastbourne in the FA Vase, Maidstone United will be back in league
action this weekend when they entertain Greenwich Borough at Bourne Park,
reports www.maidstoneunited.co.uk Reflecting on last weeks result, although Eastbourne weren't as strong as he predicted, coach Alan Walker was still pleased with the improvement in the attitude of the players. "The players on Saturday showed a lot more desire and commitment on Saturday and although I feel there is a lot more to come from this squad, it was certainly an improvement," he said. "We also still need to work on a few areas of our game as we look to change certain areas to adapt to the situation of Lloyd still being out injured." Looking at the prospect of a game against bottom
of the table Greenwich, Walker was taking nothing for granted. Tomorrow will see the return of goalkeeper Pat Mullin to the Stones squad after his one month suspension, but the one big injury doubt for Saturday is Sam Tydeman who strained his thigh muscle at Eastbourne. Neil Miller looks set to step in to replace him. The only other injury from last week is Lee Sperring who suffered a slight groin strain.
