Hasler bags a brace as Rams dominate
Ramsgate U16s 5 - Ashford Town U16s 0
M.U.S.H. Kent Youth League
Sunday 28th September 2003
Report by Bob Haynes
Ramsgate Under 16s continued their 100% winning start to the
season, having already beaten Folkestone Invicta at home and Milton Athletic
away, with a 5-0 victory over Ashford Town at Southwood on Sunday.
Luke Hasler put through Neil Hoggart for the first goal, which the top scorer
finished sweetly. The second came from a corner, Sam Haynes half-volleying from
12 yards.
After the break came the goal of the game, Luke Hasler, on the edge of the box
feigned to shoot with his right but cut back around the Ashford right back,
rifling in a low screamer from an acute angle. Further goals came from John
Ryan, following in from a long-range power-drive by Nathan Jeffreys and Luke
Hasler bagged his second with a cool header from a corner.
This win puts Ramsgate clear in second place in the Kent league, with a superior
goal difference to Maidstone United, over whom they have a game in hand. Next
Sunday (5th October) the Under 16s will be at home to Chatham Town, 11.00am
kick-off.
