Arsenal come to Sevenoaks to aid charity
Go Travel Kent League Premier Division new boys Sevenoaks Town
have announced they are staging a charity game in aid of the Hospice in the
Weald and for Youth Football in the Community, writes Stephen McCartney.
Arsenal Ex-Professionals and Celebrity XI battle it out against
a Sevenoaks Town Presidents XI at Sevenoaks Town Football Club, Greatness
Park, Mill Lane in Sevenoaks, on Sunday 28 September, kick off 2.30pm.
The day will be fun for the family with sideshows, stalls,
barbeques and raffles with admission prices for adults £3.00 and £1.50 for
concessions.
The British Energy Kent County League champions go into the
second week of the Go Travel Kent League without any points after losing their
opening two league matches.
An 89th minute goal helped Ramsgate to a 1-0 victory on the
opening day of the season, before a crowd of 350 descended to Greatness Park
to witness last season's double winners, Cray Wanderers win 3-0. Goals from
Jamie Wood, James Taylor and Phil Turner gave the Wands their first win of the
season as they defend their title.
Sevenoaks Town travel to Hythe Town today (16th August) and
host Slade Green at Greatness Park on Saturday 23rd August.
