Baldacchino relishing Slade Green post

Wayne Baldacchino and Ray Bagnall are extremely pleased to be back involved in the Kentish Observer League with Slade Green and are relishing the challenge that Division Two brings, writes Stephen McCartney.

Following a successful meeting with first team boss Phil Miles, Baldacchino felt very positive about the clubs plans and their vision for the future.

In an EXCLUSIVE interview with www.kentishfootball.co.uk he revealed the reasons why the he chose the Small Glen club.

"Extended changing rooms and a main stand are in the pipeline which will be great for the club," he said.

"There is lots of space at the Small Glen so there will always be room to expand, on and off the pitch".

Baldacchino is looking forward to teaming up with the current management team already at the club and also the variety of players available.

"As with every manager, I hope to give it a few games before I need to make a few changes as the team played fairly well on Saturday.

"I will be bringing in a second goalkeeper more or less straight away as well and maybe a defender and striker to give us a bit more strength in depth.

"It is great to be given an opportunity with Slade Green and I am pleased to be with the club.

"I had two other options with Kent clubs but felt that this was the right choice. Ray Bagnall becomes my number two and I am chuffed to bits that he has stuck with me. He is an excellent coach, is great with the players and totally trustworthy. Trevor Cross who was with me at the Deres will be helping out as and when required which is also an ideal position to be in.

"I am hoping that we draw the Deres reserves in one of the cup competitions as it would be nice to ply my trade a
against them".

Baldacchino also confirms that he has had conversations with Deres Chairman John McFadden and manager Mick Acland since his departure and their are no hard feelings.

"I was bitterly disappointed when I left the club but what has happened is in the past and I am now looking forward to working with the lads at Slade Green".
