WHITSTABLE TOWN CAPTAIN ADE BURROUGHS RETIRES

Ade Burroughs first started playing football for Faversham Town for the under
12's through to the under 16s, and also played for Millwall youth under 15s.
He joined Dover FC and played in their under 18s, and reserve team before
breaking into their first team. He then enjoyed a successful time at Ramsgate,
before joining Whitstable Town in November 1998 under manager Simon Key. An
ever present in the first team ever since, he was captain of the side for long
periods before he announced his retirement.
Burroughs won the Kent League championship whilst at Ramsgate who were managed
by current Maidstone United boss Jim Ward.
In his third season at Whitstable he was voted Supporters' Player of the Year in
2001.
