Whitstable pressing to improve on third place

WHITSTABLE TOWN are looking to build on their third placed finish in the Kent League and be even more successful next season according to their manager Matt Toms, writes Stephen McCartney.

As the top men at the Belmont express their feelings on last season and their hopes for next on the club's website, Toms said: "What about next season?  Well, as you are aware we have asked all the players back for next season.

"We have some great players at this football club but we need to maintain the standards we have set.

"Rest assured we shall be pressing to improve on this year's third place, which was the highest league finish for many, many years.

"The benchmark at Whitstable Town is to win the league and make sure we maintain a good run in the FA Cup and FA Vase as well as the Kent Cup competitions.

"I want trophies to show off at the club, the facilities are in place behind the scenes.  I have had fantastic support from Joe (Brownett) and Bruce (Smith) and all the others who work so hard.

"So really it's down to the players and myself and the lads to go for it.  On that note I'd like to say a very big thank you to all my staff, Marc (Seager), Mark Lane and of course to all the players."
