Go Travel Kent League Division Two | Ian Muir reports from Eden Park Avenue |
Beckenham Town Res | 0 | |
Whitstable Town Res | 0 |
Both defences were very much on top in the sweltering heat on
Beckenham Town's new pitch at Eden Park Avenue, so it was no surprise that there
was hardly a chances created from both teams in the first half with both
goalkeepers barely troubled.
First teamer David Smith, who has recently played Ryman League football for
Bromley and Tooting & Mitcham United, was outstanding in his free role just
behind the Beckenham forwards.
The strikers wasted many chances that was created by man-of-the-match Smith and
Ali Gazzu, who also had a sound game in the centre of midfield.
Changes were made by both teams in order to nick the points but both defences
remained solid and in the end both teams were happy to settle for a point, which
seemed a fair result in this Division Two Go Travel Kent League fixture.
