Giving youth a chance
Bromley Football Club are proud to offer Kent Youth League
football for local youngsters and fields four teams in the Kent Youth League,
writes Stephen McCartney.
The club has teams at under 14, under 15, under 16 and under 18
level in Kent's premier youth football competition.
A stream of talented youngsters are working through the club's
ranks and Edwin Mante and Danny Pearce both play on a regular basis for
Bromley's under eighteen side.
Both players win regular Kent representative honours and both
played in the county's 2-0 win over the Royal Navy in Portsmouth on Sunday.
Their manager at Bromley, Derek Parnham, doubles as goalkeeping
coach for the first team squad and the club is willing to fastrack youngsters
in and around the first team squad at Hayes Lane.
Nigel Pearce's goalscoring antics for the under eighteen side
last season helped the prolific striker gain a handful of first team
appearances in the Ryman League Division One South.
Seventeen year old central defender, John Butler is a regular
substitute in the first team and never lets the side down when he is called
upon.
Youth team (under eighteen) goalkeeper Dean Cairns is also on
the fringes of the first team squad, and is third choice goalkeeper at the
club behind first team number one, Danny Harwood, and Andy Hunt.
The club's youth team base is at the YMCA Ground in Grove Park
Road, Mottingham with an occasional under eighteen match played at the club's
Clive Christian Stadium in Hayes Lane.
However, to continue the stream of players coming through the
ranks at Bromley Football Club, sponsors are urgently required.
The club are looking for sponsors to help fund kit and
equipment so the club can continue to field four teams in the Kent Youth
League, giving local youngsters a chance to play football, and progress into
the first team squad.
