Bromley looking for new faces

THE CLOSE season ambles gently by at Hayes Lane but George Wakeling is keeping busy, trying to sign new players and retain current ones.

The Bromley joint boss would not be drawn on who he's watching bit is hopeful he'll have a better idea of what he'll have to work with next season.

He told the Bromley Times Newspaper: "We're trying to sign up the players who were here last year and add a few new faces.

"Hopefully we'll do that this week if we're lucky.  We know what type of player we want so we're waiting for them and if we can get them, great.

"At the death last year we were down to 15 players - in the play-off final (which they won 3-1 at Horsham) we only had four subs.

"We were short as a squad and we want to keep the best part of what we've got.  With the togetherness and team spirit at the club we're confident of doing okay."

With league experience in the ranks Wakeling reiterated his belief that Bromley can be competitive in next season's Ryman Premier League campaign.

He said: "Adam Locke has played 300 games in the League.  Then there's Gavin McGowan and Allan McLeod who were with Arsenal - they've played at a much higher level.  They'll adjust without trying."
