Ashford whistle blowers hit the road to raise money for mental health charity
A group of Ashford-based football referees have set themselves a challenge to run as a group 1000km during the month of February to raise at least £1,000 for a mental health charity.
The whistle blowers who are anticipating with this challenge are Ben Marshall, Bart Chmielecki, Morgan Davis, George Head, Mark Roberts, Jamie Turner and Josh Williams.
“We have decided that this would be a great chance to keep our fitness up during the closed season, as well as potentially raising some money for a charity,” said Marshall.
“We are raising money for MIND UK who, during this pandemic, have seen their need grow so much.
“The charity Mind, who are a mental health charity, work across England and Wales. They believe no one should face a mental health problem alone.
“They’re here for you, whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis, they’ll listen, give support and advice and fight your corner.
“The coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact on everyone’s mental health. We want to help them be there for everyone who needs them at this crucial time.
“We don’t just want this to be a fundraising effort, we also want people to know that no matter what they are facing, there is support out there for them.”
