Ricky Miller has a point to prove at Aldershot Town
ALDERSHOT TOWN have unveiled the signing of former Dover Athletic striker Ricky Miller, 31, after having a spell out of the game.
Miller scored 28 goals in 46 games for National League North side Boston United in 2013-14, before going on to score 22 goals in 54 games in the National League with Dover Athletic during the 2015-16 campaign.
After leaving Crabble in 2017, Miller played for Peterborough United, Mansfield Town (loan) and Port Vale and his arrival at the Recreation Ground was announced by his new club as soon as the clock struck midnight on New Years’ Day.
“Having had a year out from football, Ricky Miller will relish coming back into the National League and both he and Aldershot Town will be hoping he replicates the same kind of form he showed the last time he played at this level,” said a club statement.
Miller told the Aldershot Town website: “I’ve got a point to prove that I’m still capable of what I’ve done.
“I feel fitter than I did at Dover and I’ve come a long way since then as well, so I’m hoping I can pick up where I left off.”
Danny Searle’s side are in sixteenth-place in the Vanarama National League table with 18 points from 15 league outings.
