Angels look to continue good form against Hendon

Saturday 25th August 2007

Tonbridge Angels make the trip to Hendon today, searching for their first Ryman Premier League win of the season, writes Stephen McCartney.

John Beales (defender) and combative midfielder, Scott Kinch serve their final match of their three game bans today and will be available for selection when east Sussex side Hastings United visit the Betterview Longmead Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm).

Ray Powell, however, needs to serve a five-match ban before he can don the blue shirt.

But full-back, Scott Gooding (knee) and Adam Greenway (metatarsal) are still on the sidelines.

Striker Greenway, a summer signing from Bromley, has hit foot in a cast, but Gooding could be back within two to three weeks time.

Hamid Barr, who travelled with the squad on Tuesday night for their 1-1 draw at Ramsgate, will have his fitness tested today to see whether he can play.

Ian Parkes, a midfielder whose progressed via the club’s youth ranks, is currently on holiday and will be leaving for Bath University next month.

The north-west Londoners, currently eighth in the Ryman Premier League table, have bagged four points from their opening two league games; a goalless draw at Heybridge Swifts on the opening day of the season was followed by a 2-1 home win over Leyton in midweek.

The Angels, however, are four places below the Dons, having drawn their first two outings, at home to Staines Town (2-2) and then that 1-1 draw at Southwood Stadium in midweek.

Dolby’s men completed the double over the Dons last season. Welshman, Andy Martin, whose now playing in midfield for rivals, Maidstone United, score the only goal of the game on day one last season, before a Jon Main hat-trick sealed a
3-1 win on home soil.
