Angels probe Ramsgate misdemeanour

Wednesday 28th March 2007
Tonbridge Angels expect to be re-instated into the Kent Senior Cup after rivals Ramsgate fielded an illegible player in their quarter-final win, writes Stephen McCartney.

Akwasi Edusei played in and scored twice for Welling United during their first round 3-0 win over Dartford at Park View Road on 7th November and scored the only goal of the game against the Angels at the Betterview Longmead Stadium nine days ago.

“I have asked the Kent FA to investigate this matter on our behalf,” said Angels secretary Mr Charlie Cole.

Meanwhile, Ramsgate, who held leaders Chelmsford City to a 1-1 draw at Southwood Stadium last night, have brought forward their home game with Bromley to Good Friday, 6th April (3pm).

And the Thanet derby between Margate and Ramsgate at Hartsdown Park on Easter Monday will have segregation measures in place.

Ramsgate supporters have been allocated the northern end of the ground with access to part of the main stand.

Hot & cold refreshments and toilets will be at hand but visiting fans will have no access to the bar at the Hartsdown Park end.

All Ramsgate supporters have been told to use the Tivoli Park Avenue turnstiles at the northern end of the ground (adjacent pitch and putt golf course).

Ramsgate fans will be refused admission through the Hartsdown Park turnstiles but have been advised to park in Tivoli Park Avenue.

Turnstiles open at 1:30pm – the game kick’s off at 3pm.
