We are capable of going to Hastings and getting our first away win, says Ashford United assistant manager Gary Alexander
ASHFORD UNITED assistant manager Gary Alexander believes their first away win of the season is just around the corner.
The Nuts & Bolts are rooted in the bottom four in the Bostik South Division, having collected 25 points from their 33 league outings and have 13 league games of this miserable campaign left to play.
Assistant manager Gary Alexander has been with Ashford United for four games where the side have picked up two draws.

Ashford United travel to Hastings United tomorrow. The Arrows are in tenth-place in the table with 49 points and are 14 points adrift of the play-off zone.
“Tomorrow’s game will be tough as any as Hastings are a young, energetic side who on their day can match anyone,” said Alexander.
“They have two good people in charge, one being a close friend of mine, Steve Sallis and from speaking with him I know they are bedding a young team for the future and I’m sure it won’t be too long before they reap the rewards.
“It’s a game that we are capable of going there and getting our first away win.
“We have to believe and put in a performance for 90 minutes and not just for half a game but as we train harder and get fitter we will be a match for anyone in the closing weeks of the season.
“It’s not easy when you have that record but we need to end it as soon as possible.
“The boys have shown they can match the top sides over the last three games for periods of the games but need to do it for longer if we are to end this run and give such a good fan-base something to cheer about. I’ve not seen a crowd under 260, it’s great to have a fan-base behind us for the position we are in.”
