Ashford Town unveil record sponsorship deal
AMBITIOUS Ashford Town have today unveiled a new sponsorship deal worth close to £50,000 - the largest in the club’s history, writes Stephen McCartney.
Brakes, a Kent based nationwide food company, have agreed a two-year sponsorship deal, with an option for a third year, with the ambitious Ryman League Division One South club.
Two other companies, Mandave Project Interiors Ltd and Sirtcom,, have also agreed to sponsor the club’s reserve side.
The club showed off it’s new playing kits at today’s press conference, with the club's home colours staying green shirts and white shorts, while the away strip will be yellow shirts and green shorts.
Delighted joint-owner Don Crosbie announced the sponsorship deals at today’s press conference, where he also spoke about the impressive £8.5m redevelopment of The Homelands.
“It’s close to £50,000, it’s for two years with a third year option,” said Mr Crosbie, when speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk about the sponsorship deal with Brakes.
He added: “It’s close to £50,000, which is a fantastic sponsorship deal at our level but the thing is we’ve known Brakes for many years.
“The idea of building the conference and banqueting, the hotel, all the bars and restaurants and the facilities that we want to build here, we have to buy food from somewhere so we’re committed to Brakes and they’re committed to us.
“They’ve shown that they’re committed to us to help us get where we want to go. We’re very loyal people, we’ve got to buy our food from somewhere, we’ll buy it from Brakes.”
Brakes offer wonderful food and serve to many pubs and restaurants across the whole of the UK and beyond.
And Mr Crosbie said: “They are a massive company but were founded in Kent. They share our passion and belief and want to help us climb the football pyramid.
“Overall I would like to thank everyone for their support because this is a real team effort.
“Tony Betteridge (fellow owner) and I need the support of everyone and we want the supporters to get right behind us.”
