Hopefully we can go to CB Hounslow United and play to our potential and come away with a win, says Beckenham Town assistant Billy Walton
BECKENHAM TOWN assistant manager Billy Walton says he wants his side to go all the way in The Buildbase FA Vase this season.
Beckenham travel to CB Hounslow United in the First Qualifying Round tomorrow, having had a mixed Bank Holiday weekend.
Tommy Warrilow’s Ashford United side ended Beckenham’s interest in The FA Cup with a 1-0 win at Eden Park Avenue in the Preliminary Round last Saturday, but they bounced back by beating Erith Town 3-0 in the League two days’ later.
Beckenham Town are in fourth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, having collected nine points from their four league outings.
CB Hounslow United, meanwhile, play at the same level as Beckenham Town and go into the game sitting in 12th place in the Combined Counties League Premier Division table, having collected five points from four games.
“We want to copy Cray Valley and go all the way – but Wembley is a long way to go,” said Walton.
“Our form going into the game is good after a good performance against Erith Town on Monday.
“We got over the defeat to Ashford very well and got back to winning ways straight way, which was very important for us as we were all a bit disappointed with the result against Ashford.
“Hopefully we can go to CB Hounslow United and play to our potential and come away with a win.
“We feel we are starting to play the way we want to play, a brand of good attacking football and working hard for each other.
“It’s good to play against a team from another league and test ourselves – we are looking forward to it!
