Beckenham launch sponsorship package to raise funds for new stand
Thursday 10th June 2010
BECKENHAM TOWN have announced plans to raise money for their much-delayed stand, writes Stephen McCartney.
The Eden Park Avenue club were set to install a stand during the 2005-2006 season when the club went head-to-head with Maidstone United for the Kent League title, only to lose it to the Stones on the final day of that season.
Having successfully obtained the necessary planning consent to erect a new stand on the west side of Eden Park Avenue, Becks have this week launched their Sponsor-a-Seat campaign.
The club are hoping to persuade local businesses as well as individuals to sponsor seats in the new stand to assist with financing the new project. The cost of sponsoring an individual seat is as little as £96 - whilst there are a host of other packages which offer companies a range of benefits in exchange for their sponsorship involvement.
Some of the more extensive packages include not only free advertising but corporate use of Becks' facilities, including mid-week games under lights.
Club secretary, Peter Palmer said in a statement: “The initial interest has been extremely encouraging and hopefully we can build on this.
“We have already been able to sell sponsorship for individual seats but obviously we are also hoping we can achieve a generous response from the Beckenham business community".If you are interested in receiving more details on how you can become a seat sponsor please email info@beckenhamtownfc.co.uk.
Meanwhile, the club have announced five pre-season friendlies – all away from home – and will face Bly Spartans (17 July), Ash United (24 July), Redhill (31 July), Warlingham (1 August) and Eastbourne United (4 August).
