BROMLEY Academy director Mark Hammond says he is feeling delighted after their Girls Academy were given the go-ahead to compete in the National Football Youth League next season.

The Ravens 16-19-year-old Bromley Girls Academy scholars will take their place in the Ladies South Premier Division alongside AFC Bournemouth, AFC Basildon, Chelsea, Gillingham, Norwich City, Oxford United, Peterborough United, Plymouth Argyle, Portsmouth and Reading.

A club statement said:  “The club would like to thank those current member clubs, including Manchester City, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Sunderland, who voted in favour of the clubs application for our girls membership at the AGM held at West Bromwich Albion last week.

Hammond told www.bromleyfc.tv: “We are delighted for our female scholars to be joining such a prestigious league, providing them with an excellent experience to compete and develop alongside the likes of Bournemouth, Chelsea and Gillingham. It’s another great stride forward as we continue to work on growing our women’s game.”
