BROMLEY ON THE ORIENT: Come out in force on our memorable day, says Bromley owner Jerry Dolke

Wednesday 02nd November 2011
BROMLEY manager Mark Goldberg says his side’s trip to in-form Boreham Wood on Saturday will be great preparation for their The FA Cup First Round tie against Leyton Orient, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Ravens booked their place in the First Round for the third time in five years’ with a 2-1 victory at their high-flying Blue Square Bet South rivals Dartford last weekend, courtesy of Hakeem Araba’s first half penalty and match-winning Gareth Williams’ free-kick.

Their reward is a trip to League One form side Leyton Orient on 12 November, but the Kent club missed out on a further £67,500 as they were not picked by the television companies to be one of the three live ties.

But before Bromley try to end their miserable FA Cup record of never beating a Football League club in the FA Cup – and winning a First Round tie for the first time for 66 years’, Goldberg takes his side to Boreham Wood, a team that have climbed up the league table on the back of four successive league victories.

“We couldn’t have a harder game but great preparation for what’s to come,” said Goldberg.

“Boreham Wood will definitely be in the play-offs, I believe, come the end of the season but a real tough one, but we’ve won at Dartford, maybe we can go to Boreham Wood and do the same.”

Goldberg, meanwhile, kept his cards close to his chest, refusing to reveal details of his team selection for their trip to ninth-placed Boreham Wood on Saturday.

Williams, 29, who was man-of-the-match against Dartford, admits all eleven shirts are up for grabs for the big game at Leyton Orient.

He said:  “We have to go to Boreham Wood and put a good performance in because you could have been man-of-the-match today, if you have one (a bad game) on the next game and the manager’s having a little (decision) about you again.”

Meanwhile, the club have today confirmed that they have received 3,000 tickets for the FA Cup tie at Leyton Orient and Bromley owner Jerry Dolke has launched “The Bromley 3000 campaign” to ensure that fans’ of the Kent club fill the East Stand at Brisbane Road.

“The aim is to fill our allocation and get behind the players vocally on what has been a rollercoaster Cup run,” Mr Dolke told www.bromleyfc.net.

“With this in mind the club have launched “The Bromley 3000” campaign and we are asking the Bromley Borough to come out in force to support the team on what will be a memorable day.”

Leyton Orient have reduced their admission prices for the game - £15 (adults), £10 (concessions) and £5 (under 18s).
