Burman "reasonably happy" with start
Dartford boss Tony Burman takes his side to in-form Redbridge tomorrow, believing his side can end the Essex club’s seven match unbeaten run, writes Stephen McCartney.
But the Darts will be without Junior Kadi (twisted knee) and Brad Potter (ankle) for the game at Barkingside, whilst winger Ryan Hayes and midfield rock Alex O’Brien are both suffering from ‘flu and winger Mark Green is out.
Phil Williams, who signed from Dulwich Hamlet last week, has been drafted into the squad after missing the midweek Ryman League Cup win over Aveley, due to being cup-tied.
Midfield playmaker, Eddie McClements, meanwhile, trained last night and is expected to feature tomorrow.
“I feel (our game at Redbridge) is the pick of the league fixtures tomorrow and with our opponents being on a very good run of results, it has the signs of a very good game,” Burman told www.dartfordfc.co.uk.
Dartford booked a home Ryman League Cup third round tie against Kentish rivals, Whitstable Town, following their 3-0 win over Aveley.
“It was nice to progress to the next round and set up a game against Whitstable in the next round,” said Burman, whose side will travel to Heybridge Swifts, a Ryman Premier League side, in the fourth round, if they beat Marc Seager’s Oysermen.
“Because of the amount of games some players have played already this season, and with injuries to other players, it enabled me to look at some of Paul (Hennessey’s) lads in the under 21’s.
“It also gave Tom Bradbrook, Dave Moore, Yohance Lewis, Tommy Osborne, Brad Potter and Richard Avery some much needed match practise.
“I felt all of the players did very well and we won so everybody went home happy.”
With his side in third place in the Ryman League Division One North table - two points off top spot - Burman is satisfied.
“After thirteen games and in mid-November, I am reasonably happy with our position in the table,” he said.
“The next target is to be in a similar position if not better by the festive season, which will put us in a good position to make an assault on the difficult winter months to follow.”
