Burman wants his side to continue impressive form
DARTFORD boss Tony Burman wants his side to continue their impressive recent form for the visit of troubled Margate tomorrow, writes Stephen McCartney.
Now unbeaten in four league games, winning their last three, Dartford have climbed up to thirteenth place in the Ryman Premier League table with fourteen points from eleven games.
In contrast, inconsistent Margate go into the Princes Park showdown sitting in the bottom-four, with two wins and three draws from the same amount of games.
“I think it is very important for us to continue with our recent run of results, which has installed confidence into the players and our play,” Burman told www.dartfordfootballclub.co.uk.
"I am very pleased with some of the football we are playing at the moment and I expect a tough but entertaining game.”
On the injury front, Nick Barnes and Richard Ketchell have started jogging after ankle injuries. Alex O’Brien is back in full training and could play in midweek.
Former Margate striker, Rob Haworth, has not trained since falling off his bike a couple of weeks ago, but he has responded very well to treatment, which has given him a good chance of being added to the squad tomorrow.
Steve Norman underwent a double hernia operation last Monday and the consultant is very pleased with the outcome. The former Folkestone Invicta left-back is expected to be ruled out for six weeks.
Margate suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Hastings United last weekend and boss Barry Ashby wants his side to bounce back in the Kent derby.
“We get a bad result, and we work even harder; we work the lads even harder,” the former Gillingham ace told www.margate-fc.com.
“So it won’t be for (lack of) effort, for (lack of) hard work. We’ll be prepared again for Dartford."
Jack Parkinson, on a three-month loan from Blue Square South side Welling United, comes into contention after his two match suspension.
