Ramsgate receive free passage into next round of The FA Trophy after Canvey Island withdraw due to a number of their squad experiencing Covid symptoms
RAMSGATE have received a free passage into The FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round after tomorrow's opponents Canvey Island were forced to withdraw from the competition on the eve of the game.
A statement from Canvey Island said: "We regret to announce that we have had to withdraw from tomorrow's Buildbase FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round tie away to Ramsgate.
"A number of our squad are experiencing COVID symptoms, and while they await tests we are unable to safely take part in the match.
"In regards to ticket refunds, Ramsgate have advised that this will be sorted in due course.
"We sincerely apologise to our supporters for this highly-unfortunate situation and wish the members of our squad the best of luck with their test results and hope they feel better soon.
"We would also like to wish Ramsgate the very best of luck in the competition and for the rest of the season."
Ramsgate have confirmed that "over the course of next week all tickets purchased will be refunded."
