Chatham Town: As a community club we want to ensure that our supporters and their loved ones feel they have a person they can talk to
A qualified Chatham Town supporter is offering his services to get the local community to discuss their problems during the coronavirus lockdown.
The Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division club have launched a Covid-19 Team for Community as volunteers reach out and help those in need in the community with a chat service, a food bank, food delivery and running errands in the local community.
A club statement said: “During these difficult times we know how important it is to talk.
“Long-term Chats supporter Russell Kimble has made himself available to anybody in the community whose mental health is suffering or simply feel they need someone to talk to.
“Highly experienced in his field, Russell is a fully qualified mental health first aider who runs his own support groups and holds regular mental health seminars with hospital patients and key workers.
“As a community club we want to ensure that our supporters and their loved ones feel they have a person they can talk to, whether that is via email, over the phone or even via a video chat.
“Let’s get through this together and help each other to keep our spirits as high as we can.”
