Cray assistant Paul Blade expects tough week
Thursday 16th September 2010
CRAY WANDERERS assistant manager Paul Blade says he expects a tough game against Canvey Island at Hayes Lane on Saturday, writes Stephen McCartney.
The Wands are currently in sixteenth place in the Ryman Premier League table, with a record of one win and two draws from their five outings, with the Essex outfit sitting in tenth place with 8 points from six games.
When asked what he is expecting from Canvey Island on Saturday, Blade told www.kentishfootball.co.uk:
“Tough game, good side, strong, physical,”
“We had them watched (last) Saturday so we’ll expect no different to what we played last season. It will be a tough game but the difference with us this year to what we were last year we are a new side, we’re a new set-up, between us we’ve got young players, we’re fitter to what we was last year so I think they’re going to be in for a tough game.”
The Wands then travel down to Tonbridge Angels next Tuesday night, a side that travel to Canvey Island on Saturday to face Concord Rangers sitting fourth-from-bottom.
“I feel sorry for Tommy (Warrilow), we’ve been in that position as well from last year, where we had a poor start,” said Blade.
“The crowd at Tonbridge do get on the players and manager early doors if things aren’t going well and I think that’s the case at the minute, but Tommy knows what he’s doing. We’ll expect a tough game.”
