Cray Valley boss Kevin Watson unveils Nathan Green capture
CRAY VALLEY (Paper Mills) manager Kevin Watson has unveiled the signing of highly-rated left-back Nathan Green.
The 28-year-old joins the Isthmian League South East Division side from National League South Welling United, dropping a couple of levels to play for the Eltham-based outfit.
“Nathan needs very little introduction as many will be aware of his unquestionable ability,” Watson told the club website.
“He is a powerful and experienced left-sided player who will give another dimension to our play.
“He is a player who we have always admired and he shares our aspirations to win.
“We very much look forward to working with Nathan.”
Green was a first-team regular in the Dulwich Hamlet side that won promotion to the National League South during the 2017-18 season, making 131 appearances for Gavin Rose’s side, scoring 18 goals before joining Welling United in 2019.
Bermondsey-born Green added: “I signed for the club because I know a few of the players and want to get that winning feeling back.”
Green has also turned out for Croydon Athletic, Chipstead, Lewes, Bromley, Billericay Town, Kingstonian, Tonbridge Angels, Dagenham & Redbridge, St Albans City, Dartford and Margate.
Whilst with Dagenham & Redbridge during the 2014-2015 campaign, Green made seven appearances in League Two.
Watson had previously snapped up former Maidstone United goalkeeper Chris Lewington, 32, to replace Andy Walker, 39, who is open to offers for next season.
