Steve Ives returns to Crowborough Athletic to assist Sean Muggeridge

Friday 13th September 2019

CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC manager Sean Muggeridge has re-appointed Steve Ives as his assistant manager.

“Since departing Crowborough, Steve has had a season at Eastbourne Town and this season has been coaching at Horsham,” said a club statement, posted on www.crowboroughathletic.com

“It was essential that the club made the right appointment which is why it has taken a little longer than the club initially envisaged.

“To persuade Steve Ives to leave (Isthmian Premier Division side) Horsham is a tremendous coup for the club. Steve was top of our list so we were always willing to wait whilst I’s were dotted and T’s crossed to ensure that we got our man.”

Meanwhile, the second-from-bottom Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division club, have announced the return of Jack Walder.

“Jack will be assisting Sean and Steve with the coaching.  Jack is determined to get back to match fitness, as time passes and fitness is regained and we hope Jack’s role will evolve to that of player-coach,” added the statement.

The Crows have picked up three points from their opening six games and are next in action tomorrow when they travel to Midhurst & Easebourne in The Buidlbase FA Vase Second Qualifying Round.

Crowborough won 3-0 at Shoreham at the first hurdle and since then have lost 2-1 at K Sports and suffered a 6-0 home defeat to Chatham Town last weekend.
