The pressure is off so hopefully we can relax and enjoy the Brighton game, says Crowborough Athletic assistant Steve Ives
CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC assistant manager Steve Ives says the pressure is off when they host Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night.
The Crows welcome the Seagulls in the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup Quarter-Final with a Semi-Final against Eastbourne Borough up for grabs.
Sean Muggeridge’s side go into the game in second-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, having collected 57 points from their 23 games and are a point behind Ashford United, with a game in hand.
“We haven’t achieved anything yet and don’t want anything to distract us from focussing on our goals,” said Ives, who has seen Crowborough lose three of their last four games, although all of these three defeats have been in Cup ties.
“We play a good side in a Cup competition, the pressure is off so hopefully we can relax and enjoy the game. After that, we’ll start planning for a tough away fixture at Corinthian on Saturday.”
