If the majority of the squad stays, it’s the best team at this standard you’re going to get, says Crowborough Athletic winger Sam Crabb

Saturday 17th June 2017

CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC have announced that winger Sam Crabb is staying with the club.

The former Eastbourne Borough, Whitehawk, Lewes and Hastings United player brings experience and quality to Sean Muggeridge’s squad, as witnessed last season and his agreed to stay with the club for a second season.

The Crows finished runners-up to Ashford United in an exciting Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division title race, losing out on promotion to Bostik South by a couple of points.

“Why would I sign for anyone else,” Crabb told Crowborough Athletic’s website.

“If the majority of the squad stays, it’s the best team at this standard you’re going to get. It’s the club to be at, at the moment, lots of work going on at the club with a new pitch being installed.

“We were unlucky last year. I think too many Cup runs may have cost us the League but that’s just my opinion.”

Crabb, who scored four goals last season, added: “I’m just raring to go again now.  If I can make as many appearances as last year and add a few more goals and assists from the total I got last season, it should be another good season for me.”

Crowborough Athletic reached the last sixteen of The Buildbase FA Vase, losing 6-3 at home to Midlands Premier League side Coleshill Town in January 2017.

The Crows report back for pre-season training next Tuesday 20 June.
