Sean Muggeridge is the right man to take the club forward, says Crowborough Athletic chairman Simon Colbran

CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC newly-appointed chairman Simon Colbran insists Sean Muggeridge continues as manager next season.

The Crows finished their campaign on 90 points but finished runners-up to Ashford United in an exciting Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division title race and the club also reached the last sixteen of The Buildbase FA Vase.

Colbran, 47, was appointed the club’s chairman at their Annual General Meeting on Monday night and the Tunbridge Wells based hotelier is keeping out of team affairs despite previous football management experience at the likes of (in no particular order) Crowborough Athletic, Tunbridge Wells, Peacehaven & Telscombe, Horsham and Chipstead (Surrey).

“Sean will be the manager.  His desire and the effort he puts in the club is amazing and he is the right man to take the club forward,” said Colbran.

“It was unfortunate last season losing out by two points but it was still a fantastic season especially the 32 match unbeaten run.

“With the amount of points they ended up with they should have won the league but Ashford obviously had a great season too.

“If they put in the same commitment and effort this season they will have a good chance to go one better.”

Mr Colbran said the club will be issuing a statement shortly, reading the 3G pitch and ground improvements.
