Crowborough Athletic appoint Joe Croker as their new chairman
CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC has announced the appointment of Joe Croker as their new chairman tonight.
The Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division club have appointed the former chairman of their near neighbours Tunbridge Wells and Rusthall after replacing Clive Maynard, who stepped down from the role earlier in the month.
“We are delighted to announce that following this evening’s EGM, Joe Croker has been elected chairman by the club members of Crowborough Athletic FC,” said a club statement.
“Joe brings with him a wealth of experience, having guided Rusthall and Tunbridge Wells to dizzying heights.
“We are confident that Joe’s knowledge and expertise is exactly what the club need at this difficult time for non-league football.
“The meeting also served to elect a new executive committee and more announcements will follow once the executive committee has had time to meet and set out its hopes and aspirations for the club.”
Tunbridge Wells reached The FA Vase Final in May 2013 while Croker was chairman and the side were managed by Martin Larkin.
The Wells lost 2-1 to Spennymoor Town at Wembley Stadium, a side that have climbed up three divisions from the Northern League to the National League North since then.
