Cugley finds short-term Kessell replacement

Friday 02nd February 2007

Having lost goalkeeper Tony Kessell to Dartford earlier in the week, Folkestone Invicta manager Neil Cugley has captured the signing of highly-rated goalkeeper Chris May on a month’s loan from local rivals Ramsgate.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper, who has previously played in the Championship for Brighton & Hove Albion, has had spells at Hastings United and Worthing.

May was on the bench  when the Rams beat Invicta 2-0 at the Buzzlines Stadium last month having lost the number one jersey to Paul Wilkerson.

Cugley told www.folkestoneinvicta.co.uk that he is also speaking to a defender who he wishes to bring to the Ryman Premier League club to strengthen the backline and although nothing has yet been agreed on this issue, negotiations are ongoing.

May will make his debut tomorrow when Ashford Town (Middlesex) visit the Buzzlines Stadium, Cheriton Road, kick off 3pm.
