Daish brings South African defender to Stonebridge Road

Friday 24th August 2007

Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish has added South African defender Warren Goodhind to his squad ahead of Halifax Town's visit to Stonebridge Road tomorrow.

The 30-year-old Johannesburg-born player started his career in the UK as a trainee with Barnet before moving to Cambridge United for £80,000 in 2001.

He moved to Rochdale four years later, but had a spell away from Spotland when he was loaned to Oxford United for three months last year.

Speaking on the club’s website at www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk, Daish said: “Warren can play at right-back or centre half.

"Injuries to Gary MacDonald and Mark Ricketts have created problems with both of these positions so Warren's arrival will present me with more options within the squad."

Goodhind also played alongside Ross Smith in Dagenham & Redbridge's pre-season game against West Ham.
