Daish ties up seven of his promoted squad

EBBSFLEET UNITED boss Liam Daish is pleased and proud to announce that seven players from last season’s promotion winning squad have put pen to paper for the club’s return to the Blue Square Bet Premier.



Preston Edwards, Craig Stone, Paul Lorraine, Tom Phipp, Ram Marwa, Michael West and Clint Easton all remain at Stonebridge Road.

Goalkeeper Edwards, who won the man of the match award when he debuted for the England C side against Portugal last week, signs on and inspirational skipper Lorraine has committed himself to the Fleet to lead them into the Blue Square Bet Premier after a year’s absence, alongside his centre back partner Eason, who has also signed on the dotted line.

Stone, who made the seamless transition from midfield player to cultured full-bacck, has also been recruited for the new campaign.

Player-of-the-year Marwa will be making will be making a welcome return to Stonebridge Road next season having confirmed his commitment to Daish, who is also delighted that two of the club’s rising stars – Tom Phipp and Michael West – have stayed for the new season.

Daish told www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk: “It’s great to have signed these lads and I’m hopeful and confident there will be more to be added to this list from last season, these are not only decent players, they are decent men.”

The Fleet finished third in Blue Square Bet South last season, but three wins over Chelmsford City (over two legs) and Farnborough sealed promotion along with champions Braintree Town.
