DARTFORD boss Tony Burman updated supporters this week with details of which players will be staying at the club in their first ever Blue Square South campaign, writes Stephen McCartney.

Burman released six players that comfortably clinched the Ryman Premier League title, showing the door to Ryan Johnson, Adam Flanagan, Danny Dafter, Jay May, Rob Haworth and Allan Tait.

Nine of last season’s champagne winning squad - Andrew Young, Billy Burgess, Adam Gross, Lee Burns, Elliot Bradbrook have all re-signed for the club.

Lee Noble, Ryan Hayes, Danny Harris and Adam Burchell are already contracted for next season.

Burman’s only summer signing to date has been 25-year-old central defender, Paul Goodacre, who arrives from new league rivals Braintree Town, who are under a new manager.

“Paul has played at Conference South level for the last few seasons and will be an excellent addition to the squad,” Burman said in a statement, issued to the club’s revamped website www.dartfordfconline.com.

Meanwhile, Dartford’s academy side - managed by Jamie Coyle and Steve Copley - clinched the Football Youth Conference Alliance after defeating Kent rivals Bromley at Rushden & Diamond’s Nene Park on Tuesday night.

Jack Pallen, a striker, who spent time on loan playing for Chatham Town’s first team in Ryman League Division One South last season, netted a brace with Ryan Golding, Jake Burman and Greg Benbow also getting on the score sheet in the impressive 5-2 victory.
