K Sports is an important game for us to get back to winning ways, says Deal Town boss Derek Hares
DEAL TOWN manager Derek Hares says he wants to get back to winning ways at K Sports tomorrow.
The Hoops went down to a 2-0 defeat at home to Cray Valley last weekend and sit in eighth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 35 points on the board from their 26 league outings.”
“We have not been on the best of runs over the last few weeks, although we have played well at times,” said Hares, whose side extended their winless run to eight games.
“We certainly have not been consistent enough and need to get back in to our game.
“We have had a number of injuries to key players, which has not helped but hopefully a few of those are near to being fit and we’re able to play more of a settled side.”
K Sports were slaughtered 9-0 at promotion chasing side Chatham Town last weekend, where Chats striker Paul Vines helped himself to four goals to take his goalscoring tally up to 29 goals.
Kris Browning’s side are one place and a point worse off than Deal going into tomorrow’s game.
“I am expecting a difficult game, although they had a poor result at Chatham last week. They were on a good run of results up to that point and will be looking to bounce back on Saturday,” added Hares.
“It’s an important game for us to get back to winning ways.
“We now have 12 league games left to play and we want to finish the season as strong as possible and start building towards next season.
“The club as a whole is in good shape and we want to keep improving on and off the field.”
