Corinthian is always a test for any team but we go into the game in good form and if we can bring our best form we can make it very difficult for them, says Deal Town boss Derek Hares
DEAL TOWN manager Derek Hares says his side face a difficult run of games.
Deal Town travel to second-placed Corinthian tomorrow sitting in the top eight in the Sea Pioneer Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 27 points from 18 games.
Michael Golding’s side are six points adrift of league leaders Beckenham Town, who host fourth-placed side Chatham Town at Eden Park Avenue tomorrow.
Deal Town then host Binfield, while Corinthian travel to Chatham Town, in The Buildbase FA Vase Last 32 on Saturday 11 January.
“We now go into the New Year and face a difficult run of games, Corinthian, Binfield in the FA Vase and Bearsted in the Cup and Chatham in the league so it’s a very important period for us,” said Hares.
“Tomorrow’s game at Corinthian is always a test for any team but we go into the game in good form and if we can bring our best form we can make it very difficult for them.
“We sit in eighth position in the league and of course we hope to improve on that over the next few months.
“But as we all know there are some very good teams in this league so we need to continue to work hard.
“I believe we are still improving as a team. Steve King, our coach, deserves a lot of credit for that.
“We are still a young team so there will still be ups and downs but I believe we are going in the right direction, that’s the team and the club.”
Deal Town’s top goalscorers are Connor Coyne and Ben Chapman, who have 10 goals each, while Luke Tanner leads Corinthian’s goalscoring charts with 11 goals.
