Due to the hard work of a lot of people I believe the club is going in the right direction, says Deal Town boss Derek Hares
DEAL TOWN manager Derek Hares says the club are going in the right direction, ahead of the visit of league leaders Sevenoaks Town tomorrow.
The Hoops have won their last three games, defeating Balham 3-1 in The FA Vase First Round, before securing back-to-back league wins over Hollands & Blair (2-1) and Croydon 3-1.
Deal Town have climbed up to ninth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, with a record of 20 points from their 12 league outings.
Sevenoaks Town lead the way with 28 points from 11 games and they arrive on the Kent coast with five wins on the bounce.
“Tomorrow we take on a very strong Sevenoaks side so we know that we are in for a very difficult game but we have had a decent start to the season and have done well in recent months, especially at home,” said Hares.
“We have a very young side so we know there will be ups and downs like most sides.
“We have had our fair share of injuries, which has not helped us but there is a good spirit in the changing room.
“I must give credit to our coach Steve King, who works very hard with the plyers.
“Our aim for the season is to hopefully continue to improve the team, continue our run in The FA Vase and of course continue to improve our league position, which of course won’t be easy as there are some very good teams in this league.
“Anyone who has been to the club of late can see the improvements around the ground and due to the hard work of a lot of people I believe the club is going in the right direction.”
