We now need to build on our performance and become more consistent, says Deal Town boss Derek Hares
DEAL TOWN manager Derek Hares says he wants his side to build on their 2-0 win over Glebe at the weekend.
Two goals from Ben Chapman sealed the points against a Glebe side that are still waiting for their first win in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division.
Deal Town are in tenth-place in the table, having collected four points from three games, while Glebe sit second-from-bottom having failed to pick up any points from their opening two games.
“Obviously we were pleased with our win on Saturday against a very good Glebe side,” said Hares.
“It was a good response from the team after our disappointing FA Cup defeat at Sutton Athletic the previous Saturday.
“We now hope to build on that performance against Hollands & Blair on Tuesday night.”
Simon Halsey’s side are unbeaten in three games with five points and arrive at The Charles Sports Ground in fifth-place in the table and are a couple of points adrift of title-favourites Chatham Town.
Hares said: “We are, of course, expecting a difficult game as they have started the season well and come into the game on the back of a good win on Saturday, but we now need to build on our performance and become more consistent. If we do that then I am sure we will be fine.”
