We know that we will have ups and downs, says Deal Town boss Derek Hares
DEAL TOWN manager Derek Hares says his young side will face ups and downs during the remainder of the season.
The club are in seventh-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 32 points from their 20 league outings.
Deal Town host a Bearsted side on Saturday that are a couple of places below them in the league pecking order, having collected 28 points from 17 games.
“On Saturday we have another difficult game against a very good Bearsted side,” said Hares.
“We have been very good at home for quite some time now, our only defeat in the league in the last year was a couple of weeks ago against Tunbridge Wells.
“As I have said before we have a very young side and we know that we will have ups and downs but they are good lads who work hard to improve.
"We have shown that when we play well we can compete with the top teams in the league but we know that we have to be more consistent, especially away from home.
"As for the rest of the season, we just want to continue to improve and have a good finish in the league.
“Steve King and Dean Hill work hard with the boys in training and the boys are all benefiting from their coaching.”
Hares had this message for his supporters.
“On behalf of Steve, Dean and myself, I would like to wish all our supporters a very Happy Christmas.”
